A year from now, will I be proud of how I acted through this challenging time?

One learning/discovery

I recently discovered a gem of a documentary on Netflix: The Deepest Breath (see trailer).

Here’s the short description:

A free diver trains to break a world record with the help of an expert safety diver. This film follows the paths they took to meet at the pinnacle of the free diving world, documenting the rewards and risks of chasing a dream through ocean depths.

It’s inspiring, scary, sad, joyful, and did I say inspiring?

One question

A year from now, will I be proud of how I acted through this challenging time?

It’s hard to put into words how much that question has been helping me for the past few weeks. I’ve been struggling to accomplish all that I want to accomplish (and do it well) with a newborn.

My attitude was turning negative and my patience was growing thin. Until one morning I started asking myself the question above.

Sure, it might be tough now, but it’s temporary. Every challenging time is temporary. So how will you feel when it’s all said and done? Will you regret being pessimistic and impatient? Or will you be proud of the way you handled yourself?

  • Depending on your level of fitness, it could be only you’re bodyweight, it could be with a DB in one hand or with a sandbag on your shoulder.
